Development of New Buffer Material from Waste Cardboardî

The Logistics Division has always worked diligently to reduce waste. In fiscal 2002, it developed an original buffer material from waste cardboard to give spare parts in transport boxes protection against impact during transport, thereby greatly reducing cardboard waste.

New Buffer Material Q-Pack

Q-Pack, a new buffer material developed by the Logistics Division, principally consists of used cardboard.

To enhance the basic functions of the buffer material, technology was used and improvements were made to give it better buffering capabilities, resilience, as well as durability that enables it to withstand pressure of up to 60 kilograms.

With the addition of other improvements, including reduction of production costs and a switch to an easier-to-use size, the product evolved into a user-friendly buffer material.

We are expanding these activities nationwide, and used Q-Pack will be collected from business sites to be placed in warehouses, ready to be used again. By using Q-Pack, we have been able to avoid using Air-Cap and Styrofoam packing materials.
