Mobile Terminals for Customer Engineers

NEC Fielding equips its customer engineers with mobile information terminals—also known as Knowledge Notebooks (KNs)—to support speedy service when problems occur with customers’ systems, thereby enhancing the level of customer satisfaction and raising the efficiency of operations.

Utilizing KNs also promotes the shift to electronic maintenance documents from paper documents, implementing environmentally sound measures as well.

Since 2001, these notebook computers have been designated as “green” products for their use of reusable plastic. We are working tirelessly to introduce an electricity-saving function on the computers, and in fiscal 2003, over 75% of the mobile terminals will be “green” products.
