Promoting Use of "Eco-cars"

Under Item 1 of Article 28 of the Ordinance on Environment for Securing Health and Safety of Tokyoites, on April 1, 2001, NEC Fielding submitted an Automobile Environmental Management Plan, a Diesel Vehicle Action Plan and Plan for the Introduction of Newly Identified Low-emission Vehicles. Following that, the Company submitted an Automobile Environmental Management Performance Report under Article 29 of the Ordinance on Environment for Securing Health and Safety of Tokyoites to report on performance in the previous year.

NEC Fielding is required to submit plans and performance reports due to the fact that it operates 30 or more vehicles in the Tokyo area and Kanagawa Prefecture, making it a targeted business under the Automobile NOx and PM Control Law.

We lease most of our vehicles, and have successfully switched to low-emission vehicles so that they now constitute 36% of our fleet.
