| Participating in NEC Forest forestation activities |
 |
| NEC Group employees in Beijing plant trees in the NEC Forest, located in the outskirts of Beijing ("NEC Forest", forestation base in Lipao Village, Yanging County), as part of our contributions to society. Over the three years since fiscal 2005, NEC Group companies located in Beijing plan to plant a total of 3,000 trees at NEC Forest in China. Fiscal 2007 was the final year of the plan, and 20 local employees and family members at NEC Fielding Information Technology Service Beijing Co., Ltd. participated in the effort. Three people also came from Japan to participate, donating and planting 30 trees. |

The pool of my child's elementary school is opened to the public during summer vacation. I underwent pool-monitor training there, and then served as pool monitor.
Until now, I had not paid much mind about taking my children to the pool, but this experience really drove that this is only possible thanks to the great efforts of many people. |

I participated in the camp of a baseball club whose members are mainly junior high-school students. The camp was for two nights and three days, and was held at Lake Kawaguchi, in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Partly because the team was getting ready for an important game, it was tough for the coaches in the intense summer heat, but we practiced very hard. |

On the tree planting tour I planted trees on the island of Kalimantan, in a place where ordinary tourists are not allowed to go.
With temperatures above 30oC (86oF) and humidity above 80%, Kalimantan was a world that I had never before experienced, but it was a great experience, and gave me a sense of the importance of nature. |

| I provide home stays to foreign interns. I have been doing this about once a year, and have welcomed interns from many different countries into my home. I contribute to international exchange by showing them Japanese culture, and learning about their cultures. |

I help run one of the top shogi (Japanese chess) clubs in Kansai. Founded more than 40 years ago, the club provides opportunities for top-ranked amateurs to polish their skills. I also provide technical support to a local shogi club here in Sanda. This club serves as a place for community friendship, including holding matches between local elementary schools. Both clubs are very lively, and everyone there gets along well.
