We enhance our environmental communication activities by offering greater amounts of information to our stakeholders in an easy-to-understand format, in order to gain our stakeholders' understanding of our environmental-management activities. | We agree with the idea of "distributing material to foster an understanding of the world now, in which the global environment is changing, to 45 thousand organizations, including elementary, junior high, and high schools, schools for the handicapped, schools for the deaf, and board of educations, and providing opportunities for children of the 21st century to think about the global environment," and cooperate with the Education Support Project for Sustainable Society. |

| We sponsor the Education Support Project for Sustainable Society. 2008 will be the fifth year we have sponsored this project. The topic in 2008 will be "The Story of Water," following "The Story of Living Things" in 2007. Humankind lives sharing the Earth's limited supply of precious water with other living things. "The Story of Water" is a visual eco-book that tells the tale of water - the source of our irreplaceable lives - using a wealth of photos and illustrations. The book tells the tale of water from seven different perspectives, including the amazing properties of water, water problems occurring around the world due to global warming, and 21 resolutions by companies and NPOs tackling this issue. Why not take a moment to think about the unbreakable ties between living things and water? |

| Tropical rainforests are important places for humankind. They have the highest carbon-dioxide (CO2) absorption capacity of any forest, absorbing CO2 at a rate of 100 tons per hectare. They also supply half of all terrestrial oxygen, and play a vital role in fixing carbon dioxide. Indonesia has vast tracts of tropical rainforest. It is the country with the world's most valuable and endangered forests. |

| Seeing the remnants of a forest fire gave me a real sense of the progressive destruction of the environment. I also learned first-hand how much time and sweat goes into planting a single tree. This shows me just how difficult it is to restore a forest. Individually we are weak, but I hope that we can expand these types of activities. It was an extremely valuable experience for me. |
