| Operation of environmental management system |
 |
We maintain our environmental management system based on the yearly policy for environmental management activities determined by the chief environmental management executive.
In accordance with this policy, the person in general charge of environmental management adds the guidelines for environmental objectives and targets issued by the person responsible for the environmental management system, and instructs the persons in charge of environmental management on the first tier (branch/departmental/divisional level) to formulate yearly plans and conduct activities in their respective areas. The activities in these areas are executed in accordance with these yearly plans. Afterward, progress reports on these activities are made to the district, first tier, and corporate levels.
Meanwhile, the Central Environmental and Safety & Health Committee engages in deliberations on medium-term plans, compliance, and in-house rules, and the various conferences below promote activities of environmental communication in the interest of horizontal spread and monitoring.
In addition, each year, an auditor appointed by the chief executive performs the internal environmental auditing against the activities in all areas for linkage to continuous improvement. |

| Regular audit of ISO 14001 certification in FY2007 (May 2007) |
 |
| In fiscal 2006, efforts were made to increase the number of NEC Fielding group companies (NDEC and Fielding Supportcrew) ISO certified. The environmental management system that we operate is a three-tier (multi-site) system: company-wide, branch division, and branch office. We once again underwent an audit by the Environment ISO audit institution in fiscal 2007. The audit revealed that there are 17 items requiring "Improvement opportunities." Taking the result into consideration, we are committed to continuous improvement by taking corrective and preventive measures aiming at more efficient operation. |
