Thank you for reading this report to the end.
This is our third publication since expanding our environmental management report into this CSR report. As we have published progressive versions of the report, we have struggled to report on each of the CSR activities of the entire company, including the perspectives of each of our stakeholders, and editing this into an easy-to-understand format.
Note that our work does not end with the publication of this report each fiscal year. After its publication, we continue to work to make our actual activities, level of achievement, and challenges easier to understand, and reflect these in our medium-term CSR plans and yearly plans. We obtained a guide for improvement from our outside reviewers, and last fiscal year we received evaluations and critique of our CSR Report 2007 from the fresh perspective of university students, who are the leaders of tomorrow's society. We will reflect their feedback in next fiscal year's report.
Amidst these circumstances, we have revised the layout of the report this fiscal year as well. We reported CSR topics for five categories (governance/accountability, market, employment, society, and the environment), including lead articles on topics we particularly want to communicate. I believe that this has made the report as a whole more readable. Additionally, last fiscal year we included a separate glossary, but reflecting feedback that the glossary was difficult to use and search, this time we improved the glossary so that definitions are included in the text.
Although we again increased the page count of the report, the editorial staff's chief interest remains fulfilling our accountability by enabling the reader to understand our CSR activities in the limited number of pages available. We look forward to your feedback and comments. |
