Corporate ethics promotion system We appoint corporate ethics promoters at all levels down to the branch offices that are located throughout Japan in order to spread and thoroughly educate employees about our policy on corporate ethics. By having an employee in each department who is also part of the CSR and Internal Auditing Division work with the corporate ethics promoter, we are able to implement measures at all levels of the company. Discussions in Workplace In 2006, Discussions in Workplace were undertaken, frank exchanges of opinions made regarding one topic related to corporate ethics in which the position of participants within the company was irrelevant. The results of the discussions were summarized and shared with the whole company by releasing it on the website. As an opportunity for employees to take part in company-wide discussion on corporate ethics and to deeply think about this issue, the discussions had a major influence on the company. In addition, the discussions had a secondary benefit of promoting workplace communication, which there is a tendency to be a dearth of. NEC Fielding Code of Conduct The NEC Fielding Code of Conduct codifies items that, from a corporate ethics and compliance perspective, all directors and employees should adhered to in their daily work in order to fulfill our corporate social responsibility and is the foundation for individuals to make responsible business decisions. Included in Fielding Pocketbook All employees are provided a Fielding Pocketbook. The NEC Fielding Charter of Corporate Conduct and the NEC Fielding Code of Conduct are included in the pocketbook, and this pocketbook is the foundation that can be referred to whenever an employee has a suspicion that something is amiss during daily work. Email magazine and case sheet One of the tools that we have to teach corporate ethics is an email magazine that discusses items such as topics and laws and ordinances related to corporate ethics. Another tool to stimulate thoughts on corporate ethics is the case sheet which is based on a close-to-home example and given to all employees. This makes it possible to share information and improve employee’s awareness of issues.
